Greg Howard is a professional fine artist specialising in atmospheric, dramatic landscapes in watercolour & soft pastel. His work can be found in collections worldwide and he is a sought after tutor due to his easy going, informative no nonsense approach to the medium.

Those of you who have followed what I do for any length of time will be well aware that when I find something good materials wise that I am not averse to shouting about it loudly from the rooftops to anyone who will listen.

Why? well very simply good materials make the job of creating fantastic art that much easier! If you have crap materials in your box guess what? The art that you produce is infinitely more likely to be crap.

Sorry, but that’s just the truth! And this is why I always encourage people to buy the best that they can afford and to limit their choices to what they need instead of blindly buying all that other unnecessary rubbish that you don’t need. With pastels its easy all you need is some good pastels, good paper and a hand to blend!

A small set of say 36 good quality pastels for example will serve you much better than that cheap set you saw in the discount store where you get 300 colours for the same price - trust me on this!

Unison pastels are no exception. I have used Unison since well, forever really.  When I started out with pastel I done the thing and tried other [cheaper] brands but I swiftly came to the conclusion that in the pastel world Unison are as far as I am concerned the best thing since sliced bread - or any other type of bread for that matter.  Yes, Unison are not the cheapest pastel on the market but you get what you pay for and what you get with Unison is unsurpassed quality!

Any professional artist will tell you that one of the most important things that they require to continue producing high quality work is consistency with the materials they use. As you may be aware Unison pastels are handmade here in the U.K but despite this they have always provided me with consistency by which I mean when I restock a particular number of pastel the new pastels when they arrive will always be the same colour, texture & size that I have come to expect i.e., Fantastic!!

So it is with no small amount of pride that I took up Unisons offer to create an exclusive set of pastels bearing my moniker.

So if you are a fan of my pastel work or just like colours I use in my pastel paintings well now you don’t have to guess what they are because they’re now available in the new Greg Howard Landscape & Seascape Unison Pastel Sets which you can purchase right here on my site.

I might also add that as with many of the materials I have available on the site I also provide quite a hefty discount on these because I think it is important that as many people as possible have access to high quality materials as possible which is unfortunately not a view shared by many of the larger art supplies websites/suppliers.

So if you would like to have a dabble with pastel or are looking to upgrade or add to your current pastel collection then there are links below to the product pages where you can get some more details including a complete list of the colours included in each set as well as the prices for both sets.

As I mentioned I am currently offering both of these fantastic Unison Pastel Sets sets at a hefty discount so if you ‘likey whatta you see’ then get yours now as I will probably get shouted at by Unison to put the prices up fairly soon!
