Ashby Artists Soft Pastels

S.A.A/Ashby Soft Pastels are manufactured using the finest pigments to produce a smooth working, velvet textured pastel. All colours blend readily with gentle rubbing and can be mixed to produce immediate hues. Suitable for application to soft drawing paper, board, wood, plaster, and canvas. Drawings can be fixed with spray, fixative or framed under glass to prevent smudging.

These pastels are a complete joy to work with and a fantastic addition to my personal favourites which are Unison Coloursoft. They are also one of the most economical ranges of artists quality pastels available on the market today.

Faber Castel Pitt Pastel Pencils

Pitt Pastel Pencils ideally complement a set of soft pastels, but are equally good pitt-pencils.jpgas a medium used on their own. They produce bright colours and also go a long way - without any of the mess associated with traditional chalk pastels.

The tough leads feel soft and smooth to use, and the drawings can be wiped like ordinary pastel paintings. Pitt Pastel Pencils are high quality and have extra-thick artists’ pastel leads (4.3mm) which have unsurpassed light-fastness. The can be wiped with a finger, paper wiper or blender to get the best blending effects.
