A Little Bit Of Peace

Now this might be a little contentious but one thing I don't like about living here in the Lake District is the inordinate number of tourist's that descend on the area from around May onwards.

However before I lose you let me just clarify what I mean here as I realise that many of you who buy my work would generally be classed as tourists to the area. I'm not talking about people like you who genuinely love the area who have been coming here for years because it's in your blood. Instead I am talking about the hordes of white-trainered, inconsiderate, phone addicted numpties that come to the area looking for their next Instagram or TikTok posts!

You know the ones I mean. The ones that drive down the middle of every road usually at 10mph and park wherever they want regardless of how much inconvenience it will cause everyone else. I'm talking about the ones who think it's acceptable to leave their litter or dog poo bags behind for the magical Lakeland Fairies to clear up (not a real thing BTW).  I'm talking about the ones who go wandering up into the hills without checking the weather forecast, without a map and with absolutely no idea of the kind of terrain they are going to encounter that not only endanger themselves but very often others. And, I'm talking about the ones who walk along with their noses glued to their phones while they complain that the spectacular scenery around them doesn't look like it does in the multitude of photo-shopped photographs they find posted on social media usually by other idiots just like them! Grrr!

Yep those tourists are the ones we could do without because they spoil things for the rest of us!

But anyway if you are a genuine visitor to the Lake District who loves the area you will no doubt be aware that if you are prepared to put in that little bit extra effort it is still possible to find special little places around the area where you can get a bit of peace and quiet away from the eejits.

This is one such place - I won't tell you where it is though just in case one of the eejits sees it! If you know it keep it to yourself! 😉👍
