Above Coppermines
High above the village and the old copper mines of Coniston lies one of my favourite little spots - Levers Water. Even though it is fairly accessible it is not on the usual tourist path up Coniston which means this secluded tarn is generally quiet and a fantastic place to sit & contemplate. For those that know the area and also love a little peace & quiet it is a firm favourite.
There is a fantastic almost tangible atmosphere and on a calm day you are rewarded with the most fantastic reflections of the mountains that plunge down to the shoreline on either side. Even on a not so calm day like the one portrayed in the painting it is still a fantastic place to spend a little time.
The original watercolour painting is 500mm x 350mm and is available either framed or unframed.
