This painting is about Annie's cottage. So who is Annie? Well Annie is this lovely old lady who used to weave baskets that she sold every week at the local market in one of our lovely lake district towns. She however after many years of being one of the most recognised figures around the area made the decision to retire and moved out of the town to a lovely cottage up in the hills.

She can often be seen walking down the road into the local village to get her morning rolls and newspaper because although she loves the almost hermit like existence she has created for herself at the top of the hill she still likes to know what's going on in the world and the local baker sells the most wonderful produce.

Annie's only visitors are her daughter who comes up to help Annie in the garden and the odd walker who wants a refill for his or her water bottle. They are usually pulled into the kitchen and provided with a cup of tea and a piece of cake (also from the bakers).

I can go on like this all day you know!  Yep sorry to disappoint but Annie is not actually a real person but could very well be any number of ladies I have met in my time in and around the lakes & Yorkshire Dales. No doubt you know an Annie too. The message I am kind of trying to put out with this painting is if you do know an Annie and you have a half hour spare why not pop up the hill and see if she is o.k - it's good to care!

The original watercolour painting is 350mm x 250mm and is available either framed or unframed.

Want Your Purchase Framed?

So you have picked out the perfect image for your wall but you can’t just hang it on the wall with drawing pins can you?…No, so now you have to go and get it framed. Not only do you have to go to the hassle of finding a good framer who knows what they are doing but then you have to pick out a moulding you like and a mount to go with it. You need to pick something that is going to enhance the art but also look good in your space and then because you are only getting one frame you will pay through the nose for it!

Well here’s an idea…….

….Why not just have me frame it for you!…..FREE OF CHARGE!!

That’s right I offer a 100% FREE framing service where all you pay for is the cost of the frame itself – how cool is that?!

I use high quality light-ash wood frames that provide a neutral high quality finish that will enhance rather than detract from the artwork and will sit well in any room.  The frames are bare-faced which means if you don’t happen to like the colour of the natural wood in the frame you can change it to suit your taste with either stain, lime-wash, paint or varnish. As I purchase my frames in bulk and pass this discount on you won’t get a frame of this quality anywhere else at this price! It’s a no brainer really!

So if you have chosen an original and want it framed just choose the framed option in the options above. If you are purchasing a limited edition you can add a frame to your order by clicking the button below:
