Matlock bath is one of those places that comes across as being more like a seaside town than a Derbyshire village with its abundance of bistro style cafes and tourist trinket shops but it is nevertheless a nice place to spend a few hours – especially if you like motorbikes because it seems to attract every biker within 100 miles on a busy day.
I personally love the complete juxtaposition between the busy main street and the almost serene flow of the River Derwent and this is what I have tried to portray in this painting. I think it worked – what do you think?
The original watercolour painting is 650mm x 460mm and is available either framed or unframed.
