If you take the path from Dovedale and head along the banks of the River Wye you will end up in Milldale. Admittedly there is not much there but that is the whole point. If you (like me) prefer to avoid tourists as much as possible I recommend you park in Milldale rather than Dovedale then you have the choice of a number of fantastic walks that start here. There is also usually a National Trust landrover parked here and they are more than happy to provide you with any assistance you may require finding a route for the day.
Don't forget to visit the little caf? - they do great ice cream!
