The Final Stretch – Sharp Edge, Blencathra

Title: The Final Stretch – Sharp Edge, Blencathra – This is an original painting by U.K watercolour and soft pastel artist Greg Howard.

Sharp Edge is a ridge on one of the Northern Lakeland fells called Blencathra. Although it is by no means the only way to the summit of Blencathra it is without a doubt the most exciting way to get there and one that I myself have had the pleasure to utilise on a number of occasions.

It is arguably one of the most exciting ridge walks in the Lake District and a fantastic way to ascend Blencathra regardless of the weather although it should be noted that it can be a little trickier to attempt in inclement weather - but surely that’s why we do it! You know “Living Life on the Edge” ……sorry couldn’t help myself lol!

This pastel painting is a portrayal of Sharp Edge on of those rarer sunny days that we sometimes get here in the lakes when you can see for miles.

The original pastel painting is on Canson Mi-Teintes Touch Paper 600mm x 450mm and is available either framed or unframed.
