In The Golden Hour I

Anyone who has walked for any length of time, especially those who take photographs or paint will be aware of  'The Golden Hour'.The term "golden hour" typically refers to the period of daytime shortly after sunrise or before sunset, during which daylight is redder and softer than when the sun is higher in the sky. During this period the light is warmer and more diffused, creating a golden glow across the landscape.

The Lake District is well known for its beauty but during the golden hour the dial on that wow factor gets ramped up to 10 and beyond when the sun casts a warm, golden hue over the lakes, mountains, and valleys, enhancing the already picturesque landscape adding a magical almost ethereal quality to the scenery.

I love this time of day and frequently seek to capture the magic of that special hour in my paintings. Here is yet another example for you!
