Moment of Contemplation at Blea Tarn

The shore of Blea Tarn in Langdale is one of my favourite spots to sit and just be - at least it is when it's quiet which is difficult as it is a very popular spot.

You kind of get the best of everything here.  The tarn itself sits in a hanging valley between Little Langdale and Great Langdale and is surrounded on one side by a small wood containing Larch, Scots Pine and Silver Birch.  If you sit on the shore you get an uninterrupted view across the tarn to Side Pike & Lingmoor Fell on the right and the crags of Pike o' Blisco on the left, framing the stunning Langdale Pikes.

It's stunning!  And is in my opinion one of the finest viewpoints in the Lake District that you can get to with minimal effort which is probably one of the reasons why it is so popular.
