I don’t paint summers day pictures very often as they can very often end up looking a bit chocolate boxy but after a particularly enjoyable days walking in the summer sun I decided to paint this as I was so sunburnt I couldn’t really do much else lol!
As a keen amateur photographer I find the haze of a summers day absolutely infuriating however as a painter it is a fascinating effect to try and paint. This painting is all about the way the mountains seem to disappear into the haze the further away they are on a hot summers day. It can almost appear like the sun is attempting to dissolve the landscape sometimes.
The original watercolour painting is 550mm x 390mm and is available either framed or unframed.
