The whole idea behind this painting was to focus the eye on the man walking up to the farm. Everything has deliberately been left very abstract everywhere else in the painting so that the focus stays where it is supposed to be and the colour scheme has been kept very warm to portray the warm light you get at sundown.
The story behind this was a wish to portray that feeling you get when you get the first glimpse of your house after a busy day when you are walking home and the sun is setting. Given how steep the hill that this guy has to walk up every day is I expect he would be happier than most to see the end in sight lol!
The original watercolour painting is 360mm x 260mm and is available either framed or unframed.
