Rydal Cave
A quarter sheet watercolour painting of Rydal Cave which can be found half way up Loughrigg Fell above Rydal Water.
This cave and others in the area are a huge draw for tourists during silly season so when you do manage to get it to yourself it's quite special.
This is my impression of the view looking out from the cave which I was inspired to paint mainly because of the brightly coloured trees that were framed by the opening to the cave providing a fantastic contrast to the cool interior of the cave. The fact that the trees were also reflected in the pool of water that is inside the cave was just another bonus.
The original watercolour painting is approx 350mm x 250mm and is available either framed or unframed.
