Chrome Hill is a limestone reef knoll on the Derbyshire side of the upper Dove valley. It is adjacent to the more distinctive but lower Parkhouse Hill which you can also see in the painting. It is the shape of this hill that caught my attentionandinspired the painting as it like someone has taken a huge mountain, shrunk it and dumped it into the Derbyshire landscape so my mind thought what if when they done this the weather came with it as well.
I know - overactive imagination, but I am an artist so it is allowed. Anyway that’s where the idea came from, hope you like the results!
The original watercolour painting is 630mm x 420mm and is available either framed or unframed.
