Waiting For The Shot

This painting describes a scenario that will be all to familiar to the photographers out there who can spend endless hours just waiting & waiting & waiting for that perfect shot.

This is a little bit of tongue in cheek humour at the expense of my photography mad friends just pointing out that for landscapes painting has so many advantages over photography. The main one being that as an artist I never have to wait for the shot as I can create the perfect lighting for the scene with the flick or two of a brush. None of this getting up at 2am in the morning just to catch the sunrise from Helvellyn!

It doesn't stop there though because us artists don't even have to be on location to recreate that perfect shot, no we can do it from the comfort of our studios with a nice cup of coffee in hand or something stronger if we prefer, no midges, no wind blowing our equipment over, no rain or snow, no kids poking about in our equipment, no one asking annoying questions like 'What you looking at?...What does this do?...Can I have a shot?...Are you the Artist?...Have you seen Bob Ross on telly?....Is it supposed to look like that?...etc,etc

In fact there are so many advantages it begs the question...Why on earth would you want to be a photographer rather than an artist! 😂🤣

The original watercolour painting is approx 360mm x 510mm and is available either framed or unframed.

Want Your Purchase Framed?

So you have picked out the perfect image for your wall but you can’t just hang it on the wall with drawing pins can you?…No, so now you have to go and get it framed. Not only do you have to go to the hassle of finding a good framer who knows what they are doing but then you have to pick out a moulding you like and a mount to go with it. You need to pick something that is going to enhance the art but also look good in your space and then because you are only getting one frame you will pay through the nose for it!

Well here’s an idea…….

….Why not just have me frame it for you!…..FREE OF CHARGE!!

That’s right I offer a 100% FREE framing service where all you pay for is the cost of the frame itself – how cool is that?!

I use high quality light-ash wood frames that provide a neutral high quality finish that will enhance rather than detract from the artwork and will sit well in any room.  The frames are bare-faced which means if you don’t happen to like the colour of the natural wood in the frame you can change it to suit your taste with either stain, lime-wash, paint or varnish. As I purchase my frames in bulk and pass this discount on you won’t get a frame of this quality anywhere else at this price! It’s a no brainer really!

So if you have chosen an original and want it framed just choose the framed option in the options above. If you are purchasing a limited edition you can add a frame to your order by clicking the button below:
