Pebble Beach - Video On Demand Watercolour Workshop
Pebble beaches are one of those things that can be done incredibly well or incredibly badly! I have messed about with various techniques over the years for portraying pebble beaches - some worked, some didn’t. In this workshop however I am going to show you as near a full proof technique (or is that fool-proof?) you can get in watercolour.
This technique delivers on many levels and can also be used to paint a variety of things other than pebbles but in my opinion the most important benefit of this technique is that it leaves no room for fiddling - you just can’t because more or less everything is left to the gods of watercolour! Just the way it should be!
And before you think you need to dig out your little tiny brushes and set aside 3-4 days for this workshop then you are in for a really lovely surprise because in this workshop I am going to show you how to paint 33,782 pebbles (give or take a few) in just under an hour with no tiny brushes and no fiddling!
WORKSHOP DURATION:Â 58 Mins 27 Secs
Every workshop comes with 24-7 ONLINE LIFETIME ACCESS and can be viewed on basically any device that has an internet connection from your mobile phone right up to your smart T.V.
I want everyone who takes the workshop to be happy so I provide a full 14-day money back guarantee.
If for any reason you are not happy with the workshop you have purchased please get in touch by email to: greg@greghoward.gallery as I would like the chance to resolve any issues first.
If for any reason I can’t resolve your issue I will happily provide a full refund back to your method of payment. (Please note refunds can take between 3-10 days to process depending on the payment method used.)
First of all for these workshops you will need your eyes & ears I always encourage students to watch the workshop first and then have a go because I record most of these workshops in just one take so any mistakes or adjustments I may make to get to the final painting are included - this way you learn more.
More importantly though I always encourage students who are new to me to approach these workshops with an open mind!
While I always try to encourage students to use their own materials I know that some of you prefer to use the same as the tutor as it is one less thing to think about. Especially when you may be trying out some new techniques. So below you will find a complete list of the materials I used to produce the painting in this workshop:
Paper:
1 x Sheet of Watercolour Paper (I used Bockingford 425gsm ROUGH 1/4 Imperial [38 x 28cm])
If you need to you can purchase paper directly from me here:

Paints:
I use Daniel Smith extra fine watercolours as quite frankly they are in my opinion the best on the planet however I know that some of you may not have access to these so where appropriate I have included a substitute colour that may be more readily available to you.
Suggested Colours: Naples Yellow, Quinacridone Gold, Yellow Ochre, Bloodstone Genuine, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Carbazole Violet (sub’Winsor or Dioxazine Violet), Isoindoline Yellow (sub’ Cadmium Orange), Cadmium Red, Cobalt Teal Blue (sub’ Cobalt Turquoise), Indigo
If you fancy getting yourself a few tubes of these fantastic watercolours you can find the colours I use here:
